Superdrug Improves Skin Type Inclusivity

Superdrug has pledged to increase SPF and sunscreen testing on darker skin tones by up to 35%, in an effort to improve skin type inclusivity for customers.

The skincare industry has focussed their testing on skin types 1-3 which often meant only 4% of testers with skin types 5 and 6 were included. But Superdrug are leading the way by extending this index to 35%. This ground-breaking move follows Superdrug’s Shades Of You campaign in which it has pledged 10 industry-leading commitments to make actionable changes across the business.
