The first CK Hutchison Climate Action Conference took place in February, assembling the global leadership of the CK Hutchison Group.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made clear the importance of medical and biotechnology research as essential for protecting the health of the public and strengthening the future of medicine. In light of this, the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF) has recently gifted HK$150 million to the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

CK Hutchison welcomes the UK Competition and Markets Authority’s (“CMA”) decision to approve the sale of CK Hutchison Network’s (“CKH Networks”) UK tower assets to Cellnex. The consideration for the interests in the UK tower assets is approximately EUR3.7 billion (HKD 32.4 billion) in cash and shares. 

CK Hutchison and Ooredoo Group completed the merger of their respective telecommunications businesses in Indonesia. The newly merged company, PT Indosat Tbk, will trade as Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison from 4 January 2022.

In support of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme of the HKSAR Government, CK Asset (CKA), CK Hutchison (CKHH) and the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF) would give away a total of HK$20 million of CK Group selected vouchers through a lucky draw to fully vaccinated residents in Hong Kong. The lucky draw ceremony was conducted on 13 September 2021.

The Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF) has announced a donation of HK$30 million to the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to upgrade the research facilities in the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences.

CK Hutchison has agreed to sell its interests in its European tower assets and businesses for €10 billion in six transactions to Cellnex Telecom, Europe’s leading operator of wireless telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructures.

Following on the successful “Love Can Help” Medical Assistance Programme last year, the Li Ka Shing Foundation (“LKSF”) announced an additional HK$101 million in support of services for the citizens of Hong Kong in July 2020. The coverage of “Love Can Help II” extends from local medical services to the social welfare community.
